What Is Computer Architecture Essay Computer Architecture 1. There have been a lot of developments in microprocessors since the 286 chip. The 286 CPU are no longer sold and are very rarely found in commercial use today because of its running speed, which is between 10MHz to 20MHz. This processor has a 24-bit address bus, and is able to address up to 16 million different address locations. It also has two operating modes, which are real mode and protected mode. The real mode is basically for normal DOS operations and it uses only 8086 code (8086 was the previous CPU). When it was in protected mode the CPU is able to access beyond the 1mb address limit and employed its added features, which were intended for multi-tasking operations such as Windows, but this CPU is not powerful enough to carry out these multi-tasking operations. The 286 came with a bus width of 16-bit internal, 24-bit address, and 16-bit external, with an external speed of between 6MHz – 25MHz, and an internal speed of between 6MHz – 25MHz. The next CPU was the 386, this is also no longer produced it had a slightly faster running speeds which are between 16MHz to 40MHz. This CPU could carry out effective multi tasking operations. It also had a substantial improvement in both memory management and it had an enlarged instruction set. It is also the minimum CPU for running windows. It came in two types the 386 SX and the 386 DX. The SX had a 32-bit internal data path but it only had a 16-bit path between the CPU and the computer memory. The DX on the other hand had a 32-bit data bus between the CPU and the memory chips allowing larger data transfers so it had faster through put. It also was able to use external cache memory, usually about 64k, which also improved performance. The 386 came in two different types they both had a internal bus width of 32 bit, the SX had a address bus width of 24 bit, and a external bus width of 16 bit, its internal and external speed was between 16MHz – 33MHz. The DX however had an a ddress and external bus width of 32 bit, its internal and external speed was between 33MHz–40MHz. The 486 were the next CPU, this is still produced, there was little change to the 386 instruction set, but the 486 ran at speeds between 20MHz to 100MHz. There was more emphasis placed on the enhancements to improve the performance. It was also available in the DX and SX varieties. The difference between them was that the DX had a maths co-processor the SX did not, the Motherboards that used the 486SX chip had a spare maths co-processor socket to upgrade to a DX. The 486 chip because of its design to carry out the most common instructions in a single clock cycle this was a faster than the previous CPUs. It also had 8k of bit in cache memory, the new burst mode it had, allowed memory transfers from consecutive memory locations to be carried out at one clock cycle. The 486 came in four different types they all had a bus width of 32 bit (internal, address, and external), with an external speed of between 20MHz – 50MHz. The differences between them were in the internal speeds of t he CPU. The SX had an internal speed of between 20MHz – 50MHz, the DX had an internal speed of between 25MHz – 50MHz, the DX2 had an internal speed of between 50MHz – 66MHz. The DX4 had an internal speed of between 100MHz – 120MHz, which was actually faster than the bottom of the Pentium range. The Pentium CPU came and is the current entry level standard for computers. This CPU is effectively two that are in the one chip. This then allows two instructions to be executed in parallel, which means it greatly speeds up throughput. It also has the main mathematical operations hard wired into the chip this then means that it can be up to ten times faster than the 486DX maths coprocessor can. All the Pentium models are supercalar. The basic chip has two integer processing pipelines. It also has a branch prediction facility which is 90% of the time correctly predicts the flow of the program and fetches the instruction from the buffer area. This type of CPU has a specially designed high performance Floating Point Unit and a 16 bit internal cache. The Pentium CPUs have a bus width of 232-bit internal, 32-bit address, and 64-bit external, with an external speed of between 33MHz – 83MHz, and an internal speed of between 63MHz – 233MHz. 2. The term RAM stands for random access memory which is a storage device made up of silicon chips. A computer has two types of RAM these use arrays of transistor switches to store the binary data or in other words the switches on the chips can change, which is done by an electrical current being passed through them. This type of memory is volatile which means that any information that is in it when the computer is switched off is then lost, apart from the program which is being run at that time which is unaffected as it is only a copy of it. This then means that the users created data has to be saved before the computer is switched off. The term ROM stands for read only memory that can only be read but cannot be written to. This type of memory is not volatile this means that all the switches on the silicon chips are already set, which means that any information that is in it when the computer is switched off is then kept. The computer BIOS is stored in this type of chip so that the basic computer control programs are available as soon as the computer is switched on so it can operate. These ROM chips cannot be changed unlike the RAM chips. The computer also sets the patterns on these chips form commands, information or programs that the needs to operate. This means the data is hard-wired into the ROM chip. You can store the chip forever and the data will always be there. Besides, the data is very secure. The BIOS is stored on ROM because the user cannot disrupt the information. There are different types of ROM, too:1. Programmable ROM (PROM). This is basically a blank ROM chip that can be written to, but only once. I t is much like a CD-R drive that burns the data into the CD. Some companies use special machinery to write Proms for special purposes. 2. Erasable Programmable ROM (EPROM). This is just like PROM, except that you can erase the ROM by shining a special ultra-violet light into a sensor atop the ROM chip for a certain amount of time. Doing this wipes the data out, allowing it to be rewritten. Population Growth Essay2- Transfer the data. 3- Telling it what it wants to do. 4. The diagram on the last page shows how CPU registers are used, the diagram is called the Fetch / Execute Cycle, and there is two main parts, the fetch cycle and the execute cycle. These cycles can be divided into a more specific description of how the registers are used, the fetch part of the cycle is the same regardless of the instruction but the instructions will change in the execute part of the cycle. This cycle can be broken down into a more detailed account of how the various registers are used they are detailed below. Registers, are specialized storage areas, these are used to hold information temporarily while it is being decoded. Each of these registers has a defined purpose to carry out so that the computer can operate effectively. A General-purpose registers that are used for performing arithmetic functions. A Current instruction registers that contain both the operator and the operand of the current instruction. The Program Counter is the register that holds the address of the next instruction to be carried out these instruction are automatically incremented to the next instruction. But when the current instruction is a branch or jump instruction, then that address is copied from the instruction to the Program Counter. The Program Counter is copied to the Memory Address Register which hold the address of the memory locations from which information will be read or to which data will be written and occasionally. It will hold the address of the instruction in the fetch cycle and the information to be used in an instruction in the execute cycle. Memory data registers are used to temporarily store information read from or written to the memory. Data goes here before it goes to the Current Instruction Register where it is decoded. Once the instruction has been decoded the operand of the instruction is put in the MAR and the data will then be copied to the MDR. Any transfers of data from memory go via the MDR. The MDR and the MAR serve the system as screen registers, this allows for the difference in speed between the CPU and the memory. The CIR or Current Instruction Register is where the instruction is copied to it holds both the operator and the operand of the current instruction If the Fetch / Execute cycle is interrupted by more information then it will stack the cycle between the fetch and execute phase then deal with the new data and return to the interrupted cycle. The test for interrupts is only carried out at the end of each instruction cycle. When the item in the MDR is added to the Accumulator the whole operation carries on returning to the fetch cycle. The Accumulator is the register that carries out arithmetical functions. The status registers contain bits that are carried bases on the result of an instruction. They also contain information on interrupts to information to get a priority on less important information. All these steps are added to the program counter. Between each stage of this cycle the data is carried on busses that take it to the address part or the data part of the cycle. There are different types of bus here are two examples. The Address Bus carries addresses so that the required locations can be accessed so they can read or write data. The Data Bus transfers the information to the correct memory location. This then means from the diagram the fetch part of the cycle carries all the data to the correct one of the execute part of the cycle. The fetch part of the cycle is common while the execute part of the cycle varies. The fetch-execute cycle is as follows:The address of the instruction is copied from the PC and held in the MAR. The instruction (e.g., add x), is placed into the MDR where it is temporarily stored. The instruction (add x), is then copied to the CIR. The PC now moves on to the next instruction, (e.g., add y). While in the CIR the instruction is decoded, this determines what the instruction has to do, (add). The operand part of the instruction, (x) is then copied to the MAR. The data item (e.g., 3), whose address is still stored in the MAR, is copied to the MDR. The item held in the MDR (3) is then added to the accumulator. The process is then repeated for the next instruction, (add y). The accumulator works as follows:For example, value x = 3, y = 4, z = 7Instructions add x, add y, add zAccumulator Value = 0â€Å" = 3â€Å" = 7â€Å" = 14The root of the single cycle processor’s problems:The cycle time has to be long enough for the slowest instruction (load)Solution:Break the instruction into smaller stepsExecute each step (instead of the entire instruction) in one cycleCycle time: time it takes to execute the longest step Keep all the steps to have similar lengthUse a register to save a signal’s value whenever a signal is generated in one clock cycle and used in another cycle laterThe advantages of the multiple cycle processor:Cycle time is much shorterDifferent instructions take different number of cycles to completeLoad takes five cyclesJump only takes three cyclesAllows a functional unit to be used more than once per instruction (though requires more muxes, registers)Well, the root of these problems of course is that facts that the Single Cycle Processor’s cycle time has to be long enough for the slowest instruction. The solution is simple. Just break the instruction into smaller steps and instead of executing an entire instruction in one cycle, we will execute each of these steps in one cycle. Since the cycle time in this case will then be the time it takes to execute the longest step, our goal should be keeping all the steps to have similar length when we break up the instruction. Well the last two bullets pretty much summarise what a multiple cycle processor is all about. The first advantage of the multiple cycle processor is of course shorter cycle time than the single cycle processor. The cycle time now only has to be long enough to execute part of the instruction (point to â€Å"breaking into steps). But may be more importantly, now different instructions can take different number of cycles to complete. For example:(1) The load instruction will take five cycles to complete. (2) But the Jump instruction will only take three cycles. This feature greatly reduces the idle time inside the processor. Finally, the multiple cycle implementation allows a functional unit to be used more than once per instruction as long as it is used on different clock cycles. These little things develop respect and honoring each other. My school has asked me to speak at lower school chapels. I also serve as a class officer and I am a member: Key Club, Leadership Academy, Students Against Destructive Decisions, National Honor Society, and in Junior High Impact. Loving and helping others can trump the negative of a lower salary that teachers often encounter. I believe it is more important to love your career and spend your time in a fulfilling job than to work for a high income. I am looking forward to the educational classes in college and learning the skills to inspire children to develop a love for learning.

The Story of Dido, Queen of Ancient Carthage Dido (pronounced Die-doh) is known best as the mythical queen of Carthage who died for love of Aeneas, according to the Aeneid of Vergil (Virgil). Dido was the daughter of the king of the Phoenician city-state of Tyre. Her Phoenician name was Elissa, but she was later given the name Dido, meaning wanderer. Who Wrote About Dido? The earliest known person to have written about Dido was the Greek historian Timaeus of Taormina (c. 350-260 BCE). While Timaeuss writing did not survive, he is referenced by later writers. According to Timaeus, Dido founded Carthage as in either 814 or 813 BCE. A later source is the first-century historian Josephus whose writings mention an Elissa who founded Carthage during the rule of Menandros of Ephesus. Most people, however, know about the story of Dido from its telling in Virgil’s Aeneid. The Legend of Dido The legend tells us that when the king died, Didos brother, Pygmalion, killed Didos wealthy husband, Sychaeus. Then the ghost of Sychaeus revealed to Dido what had happened to him. He also told Dido where he had hidden his treasure. Dido, knowing how dangerous Tyre was with her brother still alive, took the treasure, fled, and wound up in Carthage, in what is now modern Tunisia. Dido bartered with the locals, offering a substantial amount of wealth in exchange for what she could contain within the skin of a bull. When they agreed to what seemed an exchange greatly to their advantage, Dido showed how clever she really was. She cut the hide into strips and laid it out in a semi-circle around a strategically placed hill with the sea forming the other side. Dido then ruled Carthage as queen. The Trojan prince Aeneas met Dido on his way from Troy to Lavinium. He wooed Dido who resisted him until struck by an arrow of Cupid. When he left her to fulfill his destiny, Dido was devastated and committed suicide. Aeneas saw her again, in the Underworld in Book VI of the Aeneid. The Legacy of Dido Didos story was engaging enough to become a focus for many later writers including the Romans  Ovid (43 BCE – 17 CE) and Tertullian (c. 160 – c. 240 CE), and medieval writers Petrarch and Chaucer. Later, she became the title character in Purcells opera Dido and Aeneas and Berliozs Les Troyennes. While Dido is a unique and intriguing character, it is unlikely that there was a historical Queen of Carthage. Recent archaeology, however, suggests that the founding dates suggested in historical documents could well be correct. The person named as her brother, Pygmalion, certainly did exist. If she were a real person based on this evidence, however, she could not possibly have met Aeneas, who would have been old enough to be her grandfather.

In the case of Roe Vs Wade, the Supreme Court had given its decision allowing the abortions in the first six months of pregnancy of period. Pro-abortion is a right of the women. The abortion is legalized from January 22, 1973 in all fifty states of Unites States. The Rose Vs Wade is foundation for pro-abortion in United States. The women rights groups and pro-abortion supporters welcomed the decision. But some of the opponents started the pro-life movement demanding abortion restrictions. Before 1973 abortion is not subject to United States constitution law. It was the matter for the individual states. So abortion was illegal if it is made after four months of pregnancy. Due to the efforts of American Medical Association anti-abortion laws have been come into force around 1900. Â  With the familiar case of Roe Vs Wade where a woman challenged the Texas laws, the U.S.Supreme Court made the following conclusions: 1. The abortion law not belongs to state issue and it is subject to Constitution of United States i.e. federal constitutional law. 2. The procurement of abortion was a constitutional right. Previous to the Roe Vs Wade, majority states in the United States of America prohibited the abortion with an exception when the life of women in threat. But the Supreme Court allowed in the case of Roe Vs Wade that woman has constitutional right for the pro abortion of first six of pregnancy. The pro-abortion would be safer and involve less complication. It is noticed that at about 89% abortions performed in the United States during 1995. All such abortions under taken in the early stage only i.e. with in the first 12-13 weeks after the last menstrual period. Since early days, the abortion was illegal and it is recommended only when life of mother is in danger. Later on the legislation developed as woman has constitutional right for the abortion of first six months of pregnancy. Accordingly the Supreme Court also given judgment stating that States could restrict the abortions of last 3 months of pregnancy. Here the last 3 months period is crucial stage, where the life fetus will be developed. REASONS The reasons for pro abortion for the woman may be various such as pregnancy without marriage, having already children, possibility of getting disabled children etc. whatever the reason, it is a legalized right to the woman to have abortion according to her choice and others should not influence on this issue. Sometimes mother’s health would be in danger due to the pregnancy. PRO-ABORTION VS PRO-CHOICE Pro-abortion is linked with pro-choice. Abortion itself indicates it is selection of choice; hence it can be termed as pro-choice. Though anti-abortion still it exists pro-choice. Pro-choice means the women would be in a position to allow or not to allow the child. So pro-choice can be termed as pro-abortion. Pro-abortion or pro-choice both linked with the women rights as it affects her own body. In the early days, the abortion became a crime for many reasons. Until 1800, there were no legislations and women themselves trained and gave training to other women for abortions. There will be no guarantee for the women to get the abortions though Roe Vs Wade gave the clear decision and legalizing the abortion within six months of the pregnancy. Illiterate women may not be able to access the necessary medical assistance. Even women who had access to legal abortion, yet they may face severe infections. Hence pro-abortion is unwanted by women though they desire. STATUS OF UNBORN CHILD DURING PRO-ABORTION Unborn child is not part of the body of mother. The unborn child lives in mother. The pro-abortion is killing of the human being with legal support for the reasons whether valid or invalid. But the unborn child is human. One way it is correct to save the mother’s life, and then it can be accepted. But for other reasons the pro-abortion is not correct. The unborn child is in the mother’s body but it is not part of the mother’s body. Hence the unborn child has separate independent status. The unborn child has right to life and this right should not be infringed by any right except the mother’s life in danger. Since unborn child is not part of the body, it has right to come outside. In case raped women also, the unborn child should not be killed. Killing of child is nothing. It is a punishment to the child for the sins of parent. Instead if birth is given to the child, it can be given for adoption since millions of couples waiting for adoption of babies. Such couples are bothered about the health of babies and nothing else. Hence pro-abortion should not be allowed or legalized for raped victims. Due to the following reasons the pro-abortion is not allowed in the rape cases. 1. It will be capital punishment to the unborn child who is innocent. 2. Allowing such abortion for other’s crime (i.e. father) 3. The right of life of the unborn child is infringed. 4. Rape is one wrong and giving punishment to the child is another wrong. PRO-LIFE SUPPORTERS VS PRO-LIFE ADVOCATES Though the Supreme Court given its decision that pro-abortion is legal, yet the American people believe that pro-abortion is wrong. The pro-abortion supporters argue that the baby is in the mother is not the child and it is not a human. The human can only be identified when they come outside. So it is not killing. They further argue that abortion should be legal at any stage that unborn child is not a human being and did not deserve any legal protection. In the United States the persons have limited rights only. Suppose if any person takes drugs beyond the limit are not acceptable though the drugs disturb her/his own body. Similarly prostitution also. In both the cases, it is their own body, yet they cannot go beyond the limit. Hence in the pregnant women also it is wrong to argue that women only should have complete control on her body with regard to abortion. The inside bay is not part of the women but it is separate identity. So keeping the pro-abortion will be invalid. It is true that women have the right to take own decision about her pregnancy and abortion and at the same time the women did not have any right to kill the child. The Pro-choice supporters argue with respect to the woman’s reproductive rights, which includes right to choose of abortion. Whereas the Pro-life advocates opposes and argue the abortion should not be accepted unless the mother’s life in threat. The pro-abortion groups express that abortion should be legal because the unborn baby is not really human being and hence no legal protection. When there is no legal protection, the unborn person cannot occupy the mother’s body without prior consent. CONCLUSION The era of legalized abortions in the country passed thirty-five years since the issue of Roe Vs Wade decision by Supreme Court. The media created false impression that everybody supported the abortion and finally abortion become a big industry in the United States. The pro-life supporters are encouraging the abortion whereas the Pro-life advocates are advocating with religious matters. The tradition and cultural make the women that their right over child should not be infringed. They thought that it is their own reproductive right about the abortion. Due to the abortion laws, many people in the U.S. are not able to adopt the children, as so many children being killed through abortions. The unexpected pregnancy leads to abortion, which gives the capital punishment to the unborn children. Â  Whether Fetus (unborn baby) has a right to be in the womb of woman? It can be yes as long as woman’s life is not in threat. But it is not right; it is permission to the Fetus to stay in the womb. The abortion is not violation of right. When the woman has a right to choose to have sexual relation with any other person, it is also right of woman to choose what and what cannot remain inside her body. Jane Eyre and Much Ado about Nothing Essay

Charlotte Bronte’s novel, â€Å"Jane Eyre† and William Shakespeare’s play, â€Å"Much Ado about Nothing†, both focus on the themes of love; â€Å"Jane Eyre† was written in 1851, the Victorian era whereas â€Å"Much Ado about Nothing† was written in 1599, the Elizabethan era. Although there may be over hundreds of years between them, both texts exhibit the ways the difficulties of love can be explored. Both texts imply that there will be difficulties as the relationships are established. Charlotte Bronte presents a flourishing relationship between Jane and Mr Rochester; this is evident when Mr Rochester says ‘â€Å"My cherished preserver good night! Strange energy was in his voice. Strange fire in his look. ’ Charlotte Bronte uses passionate language to display the development of love between Jane and Mr Rochester. The word â€Å"cherished† underlines Mr Rochester genuine and tender feelings towards her. Charlotte Bronte has also used the word â€Å"fire† to describe the look in Mr Rochester’s eyes, Bronte has deliberately used this metaphor to symbolise the growing passion, developing between Jane and him. By this point, readers begin to feel and see the developing passion between Mr Rochester and Jane. Bronte gradually establishes the growing passion between the two, as within the ideologies of the Victorian era, Mr Rochester would have been expected to marry someone of his own social class; due to this Bronte challenges the Victorian reader to consider marriage outside a particular social class. Although, Bronte also uses actions instead of dialogue between Jane and Mr Rochester to portray their love and trust developing as well as highlighting the barrier of their opposing social classes, Bronte writes â€Å"But he still retained my hand and I could not free it†. By having Mr Rochester retain Jane’s hand in a simple manner, Charlotte Bronte creates a gradual tension between Jane and Mr Rochester to emphasise Mr Rochester accepting Jane as an equal, regardless of their social barrier. Bronte’s use of language and her short sentence in this quote allows readers to engage in the moment. Bronte achieves this by writing in first person to convey Jane’s internal monologue to the readers in order to allow them to feel pity and sympathy towards Jane later on in the novel. Bronte has also used tender language to portray the simplicity of the hand shake, the word â€Å"retained† highlights the use of Bronte’s use of tender language as the word does not imply force or hurt in anyway, instead the action portrays Mr Rochester’s affection towards Jane. Bronte has disguised Mr Rochester’s respect towards Jane in the form of a handshake to allow the intensity to grow within the two characters; through this Bronte illustrates the trust between Mr Rochester and Jane as well as emphasising on the growing passion between them being confined into a simple handshake. Charlotte Bronte conveys the difficulties of love at the beginning of Mr Rochester and Jane’s relationship by emphasising on their social barrier. However, unlike â€Å"Jane Eyre† William Shakespeare has illustrated a contrasting relationship with very little development between Hero and Claudio that has been merely based upon aesthetics and lust instead of love and trust. When Claudio first notices Hero in Act 1, Scene 1, he says â€Å"Can the world buy such a jewel†. William Shakespeare used metaphorical language in order to present Claudio’s attraction towards Hero. William Shakespeare has compared Hero to a jewel, something that is precious and aesthetically pleasing to the eye to highlight the contrast between the extreme lack of development in their relationship as it’s based on lust rather than love, in comparison to the relationship of Jane and Mr Rochester’s. For readers, it is evident that there is very little experience in Hero and Claudio’s relationship as they are both extreme youthful characters. However, a jewel is also an object, which foreshadows Claudio’s treatment towards Hero further on in the play. In contrast to â€Å"Jane Eyre†, William Shakespeare develops Hero and Claudio’s relationship on nothing but attraction and lust, which highlights the trouble ahead. â€Å"In mine eye, she is the sweetest lady ever I looked on. † Again this really highlights the attraction Claudio has for Hero is purely the result of, first, physical beauty and, second, the desire to marry a noble and virtuous woman. While Claudio can’t be faulted for desiring such qualities in a wife, it is telling that he is ready to marry her after only this first meeting and that he goes to Leonato, not Hero herself, to purpose marriage. This makes the audience doubt the relationship between Claudio and Hero as it’s based only on attraction. Similarly between both texts they both introduce antagonistic characters that pose problems and difficulties to the development of the relationships. Charlotte Bronte develops Jane and Mr Rochester’s relationship slowly, which may make readers doubt the relationship, foreshadowing the trouble ahead. Bronte uses the technique of pathetic fallacy to highlight trouble unravelling further on in the novel. â€Å"The great horse-chestnut at the bottom of the orchard had been struck by lightning in the night, and half of it split away†. This quote ends the chapter of Jane and Mr Rochester’s proposal. Bronte used nature several times in the novel to underline the approval or disapproval of a situation. In this scene, as soon as Jane accepts Mr Rochester’s proposal, a bolt of lightning strikes the chestnut tree causing it to split in half, representing the trouble that lies ahead for Jane and Mr Rochester; as well as symbolising their hearts metaphorically â€Å"splitting† into two. Charlotte Bronte uses a series of events to foreshadow the upcoming chaos within the novel. Bronte uses the tearing of Jane’s veil to symbolise the upcoming heart break that soon tears her heart in two. Bronte uses Bertha to present clues to Jane by the events in the novel such as the fire and the tearing of the veil. The tension builds as the novel draws closer to the wedding of Jane and Mr Rochester, this allows readers to adapt to the conspiracy that is about to up rise following the wedding, the quote â€Å"I rose. There were no groomsmen, no bridesmaids, no relatives to wait for or marshal; none but Mr Rochester and I. Mrs Fairfax stood in the hall as we passed. I would fain have spoken to her, but my hand was held by a grasp of iron. † Charlotte Bronte presents a tense atmosphere across to readers to exhibit on the darkness of the novel. For a wedding day, there’s an extreme distinction in emotion compared to a normal wedding. Bronte gets across an emotion of numbness from Jane, as it’s supposed to be the happiest day of her life but there was no one present as the wedding apart from Mr Rochester and herself. Bronte uses a range of language techniques to intensify the tension and peculiar atmosphere around Jane’s wedding, Bronte uses semi colons to create shorter and sharper sentences to exhibit Jane’s feelings when she notices the lack of a turn out, although this ends up leading to a bigamy wedding. Bronte has introduced Bertha as an antagonistic character in order to feature the horror within the story to have a big impact on Victorian readers, as Bertha’s existence is unknown to Jane and the audience. This leads to a bigamy wedding between Mr Rochester and Jane; this affects the Victorian reader because during the Victorian era this matter would have been extremely controversial. During the Victorian era, Jane would have been seen as a â€Å"fallen women† if she were to go ahead with the marriage between Mr Rochester and herself, this was seen as being sinful and illegal. However, today Jane would not have been penalised over a decision like this. This allows readers to have a range of opinions on the decision that Jane is left with. Bronte uses contrast to highlight the distinction between Jane and Bertha in order to allow readers to accept Mr Rochester’s justification into why he allowed this event to happen. Bronte writes, â€Å"This young girl who stands so grave and quiet at the mouth of hell looking collectedly at the gambols of a demon. I wanted her just as a change after that fierce ragout†, Bronte underlines the very obvious distinctions between Jane and Bertha by having Mr Rochester compare them. Charlotte Bronte uses words such as â€Å"grave and quiet† to describe Jane in order to portray her as an innocent young girl who has had the mis-fortune to have been caught up in a bigamy wedding. Against Bronte’s use of innocent language to portray Jane she then presents Bertha by using a strong descriptive language to emphasise on the idea that Bertha is the complete opposite of Jane. Bronte uses the words â€Å"hell†, â€Å"demon† and â€Å"fierce† to describe Bertha in order to allow readers to understand that Bertha is almost a monster. This has a big impact on Mr Rochester as he is left with a decision to make. Although readers have lost respect for Mr Rochester’s character by this point, from the quote we almost feel pity for him as the revelation of Bertha is not only a big shock to Jane but it’s also a big shock to Mr Rochester. Unlike Bronte, Shakespeare presents Don Johns plans through more of a comedic purpose whereas Bronte presents her antagonistic character through a theme of horror. Shakespeare presents Don John’s plans by using the theme of deception and technique of dramatic irony to tear Claudio and Hero apart. In which the audience are put in a powerful position over the characters, as we are made aware of the events that are about to up rise. Don John presents himself as a pure villain throughout the play; Shakespeare deliberately had Don John to admit to his evil nature when he is introduced to the play, â€Å"I am a plain dealing villain, I cannot hide what I am† Shakespeare presents Don John like this to allow the audience to accept his evil nature, in a way this quote clarifies Don John as the meddling character. However, unlike Jane Eyre, Shakespeare uses the technique of dramatic irony to alert the audience of Don Johns plans to interfere between Hero and Claudio’s inexperienced relationship before either Claudio or Hero are aware. Through the deception that Don John is about to cause, Shakespeare creates tension and dread for the audience as we are aware that Hero is the innocent victim amongst all of this. However, when Don John’s plans fail the comedic side of the play is revealed as it portrays him as a foolish character. The difficulties of love can lead to victims of love in which both texts result in awful weddings. Jane and Mr Rochester’s wedding ends with the revelation of Bertha, Mrs Rochester, at this point of the novel the theme of deception is revealed which tears Mr Rochester and Jane apart, this was symbolised earlier on in the novel as the tearing of Jane’s veil. Charlotte Bronte uses Bertha as the impediment of Mr Rochester’s and Jane’s relationship throughout the novel. Bronte writes â€Å"It simply consists in the existence of a previous marriage. Mr Rochester has a wife now living. † Charlotte Bronte’s use of short sentences in this quote emphasises the harshness the reality of Bertha’s revelation had on Mr Rochester and Jane. The short sentences have a shocking effect on readers as it’s simple and severe. The Victorian readers may feel relieved in the sense that it means Jane would not be marrying Mr Rochester. However, the modern day reader would feel pity for Jane as her wedding day should be the happiest day of her life but instead her wedding has turned into a bigamy wedding. However, in ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ the shaming of Hero and the theme of deception is seen as Claudio’s lack of trust, jealousy and male pride. Shakespeare writes â€Å"Not to be married, Not to knit my soul to an approved wanton† similarly this quote has a shocking effect on readers as the use of punctuation highlights the clarification of Claudio not wanting to marry Hero which relates back to the very weak foundation on which their relationship was based on. Both texts show that, although there are lesson to be learned, the difficulties of love can be overcome. Jane runs away from Mr Rochester in result of her relationship falling apart due to her bigamy wedding. She fights a constant battle between her heart and head. However, she attempts to fight her natural instinct and nearly ends up marrying St. John but soon accepts that she has to be true to herself in the end. Charlotte Bronte writes â€Å"The waters came into my soul; I sank in deep mire: I felt no standing; I came into deep waters; the floods overflowed me†. Bronte creates imagery through this quote to portray Jane drowning in her sadness and confusion. Readers feel great pity for Jane. However, readers are satisfied as Mr Rochester does get punished for his brutal actions further on in the novel.

I interviewed and shadowed many doctors, all of whom specialized in different areas. I learned about the education process of becoming a doctor, daily tasks, their lifestyle, and the hours they worked.
